Geology/GIS
Teichert's geology department identifies new aggregate reserves and determines both the quality and quantity of resources. Site evaluation may include geologic field mapping, seismic studies, backhoe trenching, and exploration drilling. Samples are then evaluated by our Quality Assurance laboratory.
Additional support includes surveying capabilities for a range of needs utilizing GPS and conventional surveying, computer aided technologies, assistance with hydrology studies, slope stability evaluations, and mineral by-product analysis.
Our in-house Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Department provides and creates digital and hard copy maps for other Teichert departments, consultants, and federal, state, and local agencies.
GIS employees work with other departments to design specific applications and databases that assist in Teichert's day-to-day eperations.
The GIS Department also maintains an extensive digital geographic data library. Some of this data is available to employees through interactive mapping applications on Teichert's intranet site.
